As teachers and students transition in our district from Macs to Windows 10, there are some important things to not miss. This wiki has Getting Started with Windows 10 section that is helpful after teachers have made the transition. Before that, teachers will want to backup and move files, folders, and bookmarks from their laptops to either the CMCSS server or a personal external hard drive. Below are links that cover the backup to the server.
If you are using an external hard drive, make sure that it is viewable on your new Windows laptop. If it is made for Mac only, the files and folders will not show on your new Windows Device.
For a hard drive with existing files that you don't want to erase, you will want to Partition, or divide, the drive into 2 sections. Mac friendly files will remain on one side while a new section can be added to the empty space to hold Mac/Windows friendly files. Only Mac/Windows section may show on your new Windows 10 Device.
